Sign Shop
This unique addition to a vibrant Highlands, Denver neighborhood sign
shop is defined by context and light. The project is shaped using two
gestural arcs - one embracing the neighborhood, the other opening up to
downtown Denver. The intersections of these arcs and a subliminal
connection to the existing downtown street grid create a system of
skylights that illuminate the various interior spaces. These skylights,
along with the desire for interior spatial variation, create a roof
plane that animates the exterior form and juxtaposes with the stoic
brick box of the existing structure.
